Article on Greg’s Spawn Cover
Newsarama has posted an interesting article about Greg Capullo’s newest Spawn cover. Image Comics is taking the Spawn series in a new direction, with Todd McFarlane writing and Greg and Whilce Portacio doing the art.

Sylvie wins SI Awards
Sylvie Daigneault had two occasions to celebrate- she was notified that both her Taffi Bird Portrait and MTA Anniversary poster were contest winners! The Taffi Bird won a certificate of merit from the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles, and the MTA poster earned a certificate from the Society of Illustrators New York. Congrats Sylvie!

Feature of Anson in Applied Arts Magazine
Anson Liaw was just contacted to be a featured artist in an issue of Applied Arts Magazine. They’ll be showing a huge amount of his work and printing an interview in the January 2009 edition. Be sure to check back next year, we’ll post up the feature- Congrats Anson!!
Joanie’s Art in the NJCVA Show
Joanie Schwarz’s portraits are in an art exhibit at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. The opening was Thursday, September 18th but there’s still time to go and see the show, it’s up until October 15th.
Guido’s Author Portraits Show
Guanda, an Italian publisher that Guido Scarabottolo frequently works with, has just released a new line of 200 pocket-sized books. Guido was asked to do portraits of 44 of the authors, and they’re throwing an exhibition to showcase the paintings. If you’re in Milan near the Feltrienelli Piazza on Sept 16th at 6:30, be sure to pop in and say hi!
