Laurie Lafrance has an extra something to be thankful for this year! We were so excited to learn that her Olympic postage stamp has been awarded the “Prix Olympia 2010″ Gold Medal by the (wait for it!) Olympic Philately Numismatic and Memorabilia Commission.
The Olympic Philately, Numismatic and Memorabilia Commission is responsible for advising the International Olympic Committee on the dissemination of the Olympic ideal through the worldwide promotion of stamps, coins and items commemorating the Olympic Games. In addition, it stands to reason that the number of syllables included in an award’s title also signify its level of importance. So this is a pretty big deal.
Congratulations, Laurie!
