Leavin on a Jetplane…

Hello artists, friends, and countrymen! The blogmistress will be taking off to the exotic wonderland of Wisconsin until August 8th, so please do not concern yourself with the momentary lack of posts. Rest assured, we’ll be back in action soon.

We hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer.

New Anton Book from Judith Drews

We were immediately taken by Judith Drews’ charming bunny friend, the inimitably adorable Anton. And now we are pleased to hear that he is learning to speak! Congratulations to Judith, whose recently published “Anton’s First Words” takes a child through familiar environments while discussing the surroundings. Learning never looked so cute.

Rick Tulka Featured in “Artist’s Journal Workshop”

Fans of Rick Tulka’s elegantly rendered caricatures can find some samples of his work in the recently released “Artist’s Journal Workshop,” written by Cathy Johnson. A wonderful compilation featuring a variety of artists and suggestions on how to start your own sketch journal, it is a lovely companion for both established and burgeoning artists. You can check it out on amazon.

And congratulations on your inclusion, Rick!

Lisa Adams Hearts Strathmore Paper

Lisa Adams’ whimsical, multimedia work has always relied on one constant – her use of Strathmore paper. Incredibly loyal to the brand, she was selected as the featured artist for their newsletter, and there is a wonderful article discussing her work and how Strathmore has helped to accommodate her various techniques over the years.

And if the blogmistress may brag a bit, I helped to write and edit the piece! It was really fun working with Lisa on this project, and so awesome to see all that writing fit into a great layout with Lisa’s beautiful illustrations. We are very excited about this distinctive and extensive exposure.

Way to go, us!
