Talking with Raul Colon

Raul Colon was recently interviewed by Lauren Vander Pluym for Booklist Online, and her extensive research and thoughtful questioning culminated in a rave review that we couldn’t have done better ourselves.

Truly, this is a piece that deserves to stand on its own. Thank you to the author for this thoughtful look at Raul as an artist, as well as the in-depth curation of his many titles.

Take a look here.

Fabulous New York Times Review for Josée Bisaillon!

It seems like we are not alone in swooning over Josée Bisaillon’s adorable children’s book illustrations! We were absolutely tickled to read this wonderful New York Times review of her work for “Mom, Dad, our Books, and Me,” written by Danielle Marcotte.

We were struck and moved by the reviewer’s focus on Josée’s outstanding contributions to the story. Oftentimes, the illustrations are treated as a bit of an afterthought – yet here they were celebrated just as proudly as the strong writing and charming narrative.

The Children’s Book Council Honors Simona Mulazzani

The Children’s Book Council, one of North America’s foremost supporters of children’s literature and reading, recently honored “Rock-A-Bye Romp,” a darling play on the famous lullaby, written by Linda Ashman and illustrated by our own Simona Mulazzani.

Their “Hot off the Press” list, which features anticipated bestsellers, is a unique and impressive collection of fun titles, and we couldn’t be happier to see Simona in such nice company.

Take a look at the complete list here.

“Apes A-Go-Go!,” Illustrated by A. Richard Allen, Announces its US Invasion!

“Apes A-Go-Go!,” the catchy title from avant garde fashion designer-turned-author Roman Milisic and our very own A. Richard Allen, has been receiving warm praise in the UK for its endearing and wacky narrative.

But our furry friends cannot be contained! No no – in fact, they will be headed stateside, where they will be gracing the shelves of children everywhere. You have been forewarned!

Knopf/Random House has picked up this fun title and is very excited to be releasing it in July. Moreover, we are delighted that the news is spreading quickly, as Kirkus gave “Apes A-Go-Go” a very nice review, which you can read here.

Congratulations, Richard! We can’t wait to see this book on our local shelves!
